Tel Aviv, Israel – May 28, 2024 – XM Cyber, the leader in continuous exposure management, today announced the appointment of Masaki Hiraoka as Country Manager for Japan. In this role, Hiraoka will spearhead XM Cyber’s expansion in the Japanese market, leading the company’s presence in Japan, sales promotion, and engagement with customers and partners to help organizations proactively strengthen their security postures and improve overall resilience against cyber threats.
“I am extremely excited and committed to delivering transformative security value that protects our customers in Japan and drives the expansion of XM Cyber’s business and strategic partnerships,” said Masaki Hiraoka, Country Manager, Japan at XM Cyber. “With cybersecurity being a top priority, Japanese enterprises require innovative solutions that provide continuous visibility into external and internal attack surfaces before threat actors can exploit them.”
Gartner® lists Threat Exposure Management as one of the Top Cybersecurity Trends in 2024 and predicts that, “by 2026, organizations prioritizing their security investments via a continuous threat exposure management (CTEM) program will suffer two-thirds fewer breaches.” Further, Gartner states, “The attack surface of a modern enterprise is complex and fragmented, a symptom of evolving IT working practices (i.e., the use of SaaS). This creates diagnosis fatigue due to ever-growing and conflicting remediation priority lists. Enterprise CISOs sense the need to evolve their assessment practices to better understand their combined exposure to threats and address gaps in their posture.”
XM Cyber has already established a strong foothold in Japan through its strategic partnership with SB C&S Corp which builds on its recent growth in Asia-Pacific and marked a significant expansion into the Japanese market. Additionally, XM Cyber has had partnerships with other leading enterprises in the region such as GFD and Kyocera Mirai Envision Corporation.
“Masaki’s extensive cybersecurity experience and deep understanding of the Japanese market make him an ideal leader to drive our growth strategy and deliver unparalleled value to customers,” said Stree Naidu, VP Asia Pacific & Japan at XM Cyber. “We are excited for Masaki to join our mission to revolutionize the way Japanese businesses approach their security strategy through comprehensive attack surface management.”
“We sincerely welcome Mr. Hiraoka’s appointment as Japan Country Manager, said Yokomizo CEO of GFD. “As digital transformation continues to progress in Japan, the need for ongoing risk management for more complex IT systems is becoming increasingly important worldwide. GFD will work closely with XM Cyber to help our clients mitigate security risks to their information assets.”
Prior to joining XM Cyber, Hiraoka spent four years at Cybereason Japan, where he held a key role in establishing the company’s presence in the region. Additionally, he served as the Business Development Manager at SoftBank, where he was responsible for bringing overseas cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies/businesses to Japan. Prior to his time at Softbank, Hiraoka worked with SB Cloud, leading strategic projects, marketing campaigns, and cloud HPC alliances. His industry expertise and customer-centric approach have been instrumental in building trusted relationships and driving success in the Japanese cybersecurity market.
